Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains how JahazServices (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use CarrierLens. Please read it alongside our Terms of Use.
1. Who we are
JahazServices operates CarrierLens, a service that helps freight brokers and shippers research motor carriers. This policy describes how we collect, use, and share personal information in connection with the service, and the choices you have about it.
By using CarrierLens, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information — your name and email address when you create an account. Your password is handled by our authentication provider; we do not store it ourselves.
- Information you provide while using the service — searches you run, carriers you save to your account, and any notes you write about them.
- Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment details are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your card number.
- Messages you send us — when you use our contact form, we collect your name, email, company, subject, and message so we can respond to you.
- Device and usage information — including through Google Analytics, we collect information such as the pages you visit, your approximate location, your browser and device type, and the site that referred you to us.
- Security checks — we use Cloudflare Turnstile on our sign-up, contact, and password-reset forms to help tell humans apart from bots. It may process your IP address and browser or device signals to detect automated abuse.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide and maintain the service, including your searches, saved carriers, and notes;
- manage your account and process billing through Stripe;
- respond to your questions and support requests;
- understand and improve how the service is used;
- keep the service secure, detect abuse, and prevent fraud; and
- comply with applicable law.
We do not use your personal information to build advertising profiles.
4. Carrier information from public sources
CarrierLens displays information about motor carriers from FMCSA, SAFER, and other third-party data providers and APIs. Some of these records include the names and contact details of carrier owners and officers. This information is publicly available, and we display it as part of helping our users research carriers.
We do not create or verify these records, and we cannot change them on your behalf. If a record about you or your business is incorrect, it needs to be updated with FMCSA directly. If you have questions about carrier information shown in the service, contact us.
5. How we share information
We share personal information with service providers who help us run CarrierLens, including providers of hosting, database and authentication services, payment processing through Stripe, email delivery, analytics through Google, and bot protection through Cloudflare. These providers may only use your information to provide services to us.
We may also share information if required by law, to respond to legal process, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, protect the service from abuse, and understand how the service is used. See our Cookie Policy for details.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and to meet our legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. There is currently no self-service option to delete your account, but you can ask us to delete it, and the personal information associated with it, at any time by contacting us.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your personal information, correct it, delete it, or withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
We will respond to your request within a reasonable time. We will not charge you a fee for making a request, unless it is unreasonable or repetitive.
If you are in Canada and are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, such as encrypting data in transit and restricting access to personal information, to protect it from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Where information is processed
JahazServices is based in Canada, but our service providers may store or process personal information outside of Canada, including in the United States. Wherever your information is processed, we take steps to keep it protected in line with this policy.
11. Children
CarrierLens is a business tool for freight professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. If we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date above. Your continued use of the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
